Arcanum, laid out in 1849, is a village in Darke County, Ohio with a 2024 population of 2317.
A favorite place to visit and photograph. There's something about the red brick main street, decaying painted brick buildings with unused upper floors that continues to draw my attention.
The village was named Arcanum, which means secret / hidden, by two engineers in 1848 during a dark, foggy November.
