Buda, established in 1854 to serve the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, is a small-town with 2024 population of some 487.
It was named after Buda, now a part of Budapest, Hungary and was chosen in honor of the exiled Hungarian politician Louis Kossuth.
