TGIF: Final Kit Piece / West Union

On Wednesday, the final - for now - piece for the Pentax kit arrived from Japan.  The newly arrived used Sigma 8 - 16mm lens will be useful in those cramped locations for which the  Sigma10 - 20mm lens is not wide enough to cover the entire  scene.

As warmer sunny weekend weather has been predicted, plan to photograph and make use of this new addition.

From a West Union, Iowa walkabout -

West Union was originally called Knob Prairie.  William Wells was the founder and renamed it for his hometown West Union, Ohio.

West Union, Iowa the county seat of Fayette County, with a 2024 population of 2,433 is currently declining at a rate of -0.33% annually. Its population has decreased by -1.74% since 2020 census, which recorded a population of 2,490.

   West Union, Iowa.

There is also a West Union Tire company in West Union, Ohio.

FWIW -  In 1860 a manual vacuum cleaner was invented by Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa. Called a "carpet sweeper", it gathered dust with a rotating brush and had a bellows for generating suction.

Check back on Monday, will hope to have results from the latest lens addition.
