Monday Morning Coffee: Spring Cleaning / Frankfort, Indiana

It's that time of the year - Spring Cleaning.  The past few days have been spent tidying up the coffee maker, computer and camera kits.

Yes, the coffee maker.  If anything is to be accomplished, coffee is a must.  After a couple of cycles of water and vinegar followed by several water rinses the machine again produces a reasonably good cup of coffee.

Next order of business, restore the computer by updating the profile, removing unused bookmarks and programs.

The profiling is rather straightforward procedure thanks to a display calibration tool.  The new profile made the screen much brighter and a more accurate color.

The review of bookmarks and programs took a bit of time.  What to keep and what not to retain required carefully and individuality evaluating each one.  They were like old friends and to discard one was difficult.   Finally finished and took a break for coffee before attacking the camera kits.

The m4/3 Panasonic equipment is, for the most part, updated and in good condition.  All that is needed is a spot of surface cleaning and some battery charging.

If you have been following along, you know that have recently added to the photography kit a Pentax color and monochrome camera body along with matching lenses.  As the bodies and lenses arrived in fine surface shape, all that's required is review, if necessary correct, the body settings and charge the batteries.

Now that all these tasks are completed, time to turn attention to actually using the equipment.

From a walkabout, in Frankfort, Indiana, the county seat of Clinton County.

Now, Frankfort was originally laid out on a 60-acre tract donated by brothers John, William, and Nicholas Pence from Warren County, Ohio, in 1830.

At their request the town was named Frankfort in honor of their great-grandparents home of Frankfurt am Main in Germany.

Frankfort with a 2024 population16,416, is currently declining at a rate of -0.7% annually and its population has decreased by -2.7% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 16,697 in 2020.

The equipment has been readied and if the weather cooperates we're set to go.
