TGIF: Future - Not Looking Good

Started the week off learning that a rather serious personal health issue was not improving. Was suggested to try one last way to fix the problem.  Will return in 6 weeks to determine whether it worked or not.

The following day, decided to venture out and attempt some photography.  Not wishing to travel too far, headed to a few nearby locations.

First stop:

   Hartford City, Indiana.

Hartford City is the county seat of Blackford County in Northeast Central Indiana.  The population in 2010 was 6220.  This down from its peak year -1970 - when it was 8202.  The 2015 estimated number was 5992.

From Hartford City wandered down to Gaston, Indiana.

Now Gaston is a town with a population as of July 2016 of 857.
As across the Midwest, Gaston's population is tending downward from 871 in 2010.

In addition to people leaving, local businesses are closing.

   Gaston, Indiana.

These losses, in many ways, can be attributed to the closing down of local manufacturing in the 80's and continuing to this day.  These two places are just two of the many examples that make up the Rust Belt.
