Monday Morning Coffee: In Changing Times, Businesses Change

 

In 2009, wandering along Oak Street in Union City, Indiana, came upon the Westfall NEWSTAND & GAME BOOKS retail outlet

offering a variety of products including newspapers, magazines, and other reading materials for customers to purchase.

On the recent return to Union City discovered that the business is now permanently closed.

   Union City, Indiana.

Not clear as to why but not surprised as newsstands - nation wide - have closed due to a combination of factors including the shift to digital media along with reduced print advertising revenue and increased operating costs.
