Paulding, Ohio, the county seat of Paulding County, has a declining 2025 population of 3,515.
Historically, it is linked to the Wabash and Erie Canal and its role as a landmark on the Underground Railroad.
The 1891 Pursel Block building’s was built by early businessman V.V. Pursel.
The building’s history includes periods as a dry goods store, grocery, and Paulding County’s first hospital in 1919.
