There was a time - late 1800's to early 1900's - when the Midwest was at the edge of the frontier. Among many things, it was a period of construction as industry and businesses needed a home.
Not just any building would do, but a rather detailed carefully constructed one.
Sadly, ever so many of these organizations are long gone and all that's left are memories and in some cases a few remaining structures.
Those still standing are either empty and unused or recycled into a new use for today's life style.
In the town center of Spiceland - still standing - is the Henry County Bank building an elaborate detailed red brick structure.
