Monday Morning Coffee: Fall / Cambridge City / Change?

Locally the weather this past week has been very Fall like with 40's - 50's mornings and 60's - 70's later in the day.

While enjoyable, we have cut back the time with early outside coffee while Paisley checks out her area.

Often Fall is when holiday sales get underway.  A good time to check out personal photography equipment and  review past results to determine what if any changes would improve the photographs.

Consider for example, in September 2013, on unusually bright warm day, managed to view this scene and photograph it with a released in June 2011 Panasonic G3 16mp body with a kit lens

   Cambridge City, Indiana.

This result would suggest to me, because of the sharpness and clarity, that combination wasn't too shabby.  In fact, it was a rather fine pair.

Returning in August 2024, this time with a released in October 2013 Pentax K3 24mp body and Pentax wide angle lens.

  Cambridge City, Indiana.

A couple differences, the point of view, equipment, weather / light, and - of course - garage door.  Again, a fine acceptable pair.

Reading ads / reviews of the latest and greatest new available photography equipment and software, not convinced that over time, while suggested improvements are offered, results are quite acceptable using earlier equipment.

Based on this and other examples, the only changes that I would consider would be an equipment weight change.  While the present Panasonic and Pentax bodies and lenses are just fine, they are a bit heavy to carry about.  As usually work with two lens mounted camera bodies, wonder if there might be other lighter equipment.

The next project is to check out weight of possible replacements.
