Not clear as to the reasons, but often travel, stop and photograph in Knightstown. It is not all that different from other small Midwest communities, yet the location continues to be attractive.
A saga of some 15 years has been the birth and death of a dream on a block off US Route 40, in the central part of town.
It was a bright still early afternoon wandering about a neighborhood, when first came across the future home of the Truth Apostolic Tabernacle.
As always, find recycled buildings to be interesting.
Stopped by, on a rather overcast day to discover
except for bracing the brick wall and stacking sheets of wood, the exterior had not changed very much.
Promised this time, to not wait so long between visits.
A year later, found that the brick front needed more support, a gate had been installed and more wood pilled in the front.
Finally 3 years later with the braces and stacked wood removed, the place looked like a welcoming church building
complete with a couple new windows, inviting front door, a garland above a cross.
Returned a couple of weeks ago to discover many changes. Religious symbols removed, stuff pilled outside and most importantly a AUCTION sign.
Someone / a group had a dream. An available convenient location would become a church.
With energy and work the dream took shape and 7 years later closed.
