Will start off the week with a few wall mural results from a Historic Richmond walkabout.
Richmond, Indiana.
In 1872 the Starr Piano Company began as the Trayser Piano Company, reorganized in 1878 as the Chase Piano Company and in 1893 became the Starr Piano Company.
By the 1920s, it was manufacturing not only pianos but phonographs and producing records.
The Gennett Records Division of Starr Piano recorded artists of early jazz, blues, and country music.
The records produced during this time constitute the earliest recorded artists such as Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Hoagy Carmichael, and Bix Beiderbecke.
