Black & White Wednesday: Farmland Elevator


Farmland is a city in Randolph County, Indiana with a 2024 population of 1,260. 

It is currently declining at a annual rate of -0.08%. Farmland's population has decreased by -0.16% from a population of 1,262 in 2020. 

In 1919 the Goodrich Brothers Hay and Grain Company, started by John and Percy Goodrich in Winchester around 1897, constructed the Farmland elevator.

The elevator was a working elevator until 1983 when it was closed because many farmers were unable to pay their feed bills.

The grain elevator has been repurposed and now houses Old Mill Shoppes.
