TGIF: Black & White for Black Friday

Dark, cloudy and overcast morning.  Seems perfect for the opening of the shopping season - Black Friday.

Here in the Midwest folks line up several hours before the stores opening in order to purchase advertised bargains.

With more and more buying items on line, the crowds not quite as large as in the past.  For these shoppers, it's the experience, seeing and touching that is important.

Returning from the early morning walk, decided to celebrate  Black Friday by posting a couple of black and white film
panoramic images.

First off, a rather typical Midwest main street.

   Anthony, Indiana.

Next, a favorite painted advertisement on the side of a brick building.

   Alexandria, Indiana.

Brief photo note:  While out and about photographing, usually make an effort to not only work in color but also include monotone black and white.  Not sure exactly what it is, but there is something in the simplicity of the black and white renditions that works.
