TGIF: Small Is Becoming Smaller

It has been a couple of years since last visited Ohio City, Ohio.  It looks about the same physically.  Not much has changed.

The village office building is an architectural gem.  No red brick construction here.  Rather lovely curved lines set off by the very red bench.  A delight play of color and form.

Right across the street is the windowless red brick home of the Avengers.

What has changed is the population as it is trending downward.  In 2000 it was 784. Ten years later it was 705 and by 2014 there were 688 in the village.  In this, Ohio City is reflecting what is happening across the Midwest.  Small communities are becoming smaller.
