Far and Near

Earlier in the year this Cambridge City, Indiana street scene was posted. The hope was that it would provide what is called an establishing image.  That is, a viewer would be able to begin to sense a feeling for and understanding of the community.

This long view could then be followed by a presentation of some selected details.

This example of craft use of bricks and the careful attention

to design and detail helps in dating the construction.  It also provides some insight into the values of the residents.

For a sequence of images to be successful, both the far and near need to be included.
