Monday morning Coffee: Farmington, Iowa

While traveling across Iowa in the Spring time, stopped in Farmington, parked and went for a bit of walk.

Farmington is a city in Van Buren County that had a population of 664 in 2010. In 2013 it was estimated to be 652.

The estimated household income in 2000 was $26,354.  By 2013 this rose to $39,267.  For the state of Iowa in 2013 it was $52, 229.

Median house value, Black race population percentage, Hispanic race population percentage,  Foreign-born population percentage and foreign-born population percentage all significantly below state average.

Moving from the center of town along a main street:

Turning and looking back.

A touch further along.

Walk over, returned to the car, drove out of town and continued traveling across Iowa. Remaining impression is one of what appeared to be a somewhat depressed community.
