Willshire, Ohio

   Willshire, Ohio.

Willshire is a village in Van Wert County, Ohio.  It was founded by Capt. James Riley in 1821, named for William Willshire and the original county seat of Van Wert County.

As of the census of 2000, there were 463 people, reduced to 397 in 2010, down to 385 in 2017 and  estimated to be 383 in 2020 according to the most recent United States census estimates.

If the estimate is correct, this will be a loss of some 60 people in 10 years.  Seems to be the same story all across the Medwest.
