Now, documentary photography is a genre of photography that aims to record reality, capture moments as they are, and create a historical record of people, places, and events.
Unlike other forms of photography, it avoids manipulation or staged scenarios, focusing instead on honest, unadulterated scenes of life, society, and the environment to inform and provoke thought or social change.
Documentary photographers act as observers, working with a chosen subject or theme to create visual narratives that tell a story.
