Brief background history review of Minster.
Founded in 1832 as Stallostown in 1832 as part of Mercer County. The village changed its name to Minster in 1836 and was given to Auglaize County when it was created in 1848.
From the beginning It was mostly comprised by German settlers coming from Cincinnati by way of the Miami-Erie Canal.
Minster Mutual Building on West 4th Street
was originally the home of the Minster Mutual Fire Insurance Company an insurance provider with a history dating back to 1925.
The business center on West 4th Street
is owned by the Nidec Corporation, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
