Finished the cup of coffee, closed up the car and drove North out of Gratis to visit Verona.
Has been a very long time since have been there. In fact, it was 25 years ago. At that time the Verona, Ohio population was 493.
In 2025 Verona with a population of 390 and a poverty rate of 10.87% is a declining village in Preble County, Ohio.
The Verona Post Office, like the Gratis Post Office remains located in a lodge hall. This time it's a 1909 K of P Lodge building.
On the other side of the street with posted limited hours, is the local retail outlet the same as it was 25 years ago.
