As mentioned in an earlier post, interested in camera equipment that is a bit lighter and easier to carry.
After several hours, over a couple of days of web searching, came across a used Pentax K-S1, introduced in August 2014, camera body . Advertised in good condition and reasonably priced so decided to order it.
Unbelievable service as it arrived overnight with free shipping. Unboxed, charged battery, installed a memory card and lens and set out locally to test it out.
As a check, returned to a previously photographed location.
Earlier, using a Panasonic G3 camera, released in June 2011, came home with the following result.
While the subject / point of view is pretty much the same, the light is different.
Conclusions: Both are acceptable, the Pentax combination works as advertised and is a keeper. Need to continue using it to learn more about it's limitations.
Also because like to carry two cameras - one with wide angle zoom lens and the other with a normal range zoom lens - will search to see if can find another similar Pentax body.
