Monday Morning Coffee: 1896 Hagerstown Building

On Sunday, took a short quick drive over to Hagerstown, Indiana.

In April 2005 photographed the Nettle Creek Pharmacy along Main Street, aka Rt 38.

     Hagerstown, Indiana.

In 2005 the two-story building was sold to Hagerstown native, Nate Logston. The top floor of the building  served as Logston’s architectural practice.

Logston decided to sell the building in 2012 after hearing about the pharmacy’s plans to relocate just a couple buildings over, down the street, after sixty-three years.

After the pharmacy move, have been attempting to rephotograph the building but have always been confronted by vehicles blocking the view. This time was lucky and managed to obtain the photograph.

    Hagerstown, Indiana.

In 2012, Anton Payne and his wife Nathalia bought the building because they wanted to have a loft-style apartment in the downtown area and downstairs a locally owned coffee bistro.

The 1895 Lounge Cafe is now permanently closed.
