Morning began early, sitting outside, in the darkness. A very quiet time with just the two of us.
After a bit, returned inside for a bagel breakfast, brewed a pot of coffee and with cup of coffee in hand, moved to the computer area. Our July 22, 2024 is officially under way.
On a late spring / early summer sunny walkabout in Western Ohio, stopped and spent time in Ft. Recovery.
Now, Ft. Recovery, the site of two significant battles during the Indian Wars in the late 18th century, is a city located in Darke and Mercer County Ohio.
With a 2024 population of 1,474 the city is currently declining at a rate of -0.54% annually as its population has decreased by -2.58% since the most recent census of 1,513 in 2020.
In the center of town, came across a rather fine 1883, well cared for, brick building.
Ft. Recovery, Ohio.
A bit further along long the main street,
on the left the Tin Cupboard, a small restaurant with a hometown feel, in business for over 25 years and on the right Brockman Furniture offering new furniture and floor coverings since 1950.
Was a pleasant, quiet ramble about a very neat, tidy and prosperous community.
Will plan to return.
