Many folks are programmed for a surface viewing rather than a more in depth examination.
Much of what is shown on the blog, is a step back and survey of an entire landscape. Hidden within the image are clues - dates, used or unused objects, open or closed structures. etc - of what am attempting to convey.
Most viewers don’t stray from the overall scene. What they view is a overall street view - probably empty of life - or a building - probably old, closed and bordered - or a storefront - probably empty and unused - and move on to something else. The clues are there, but are often overlooked in a hasty quick look see.
