TGIF: Markleville, Indiana

On Sunday, in addition to One Leg Walking in Middletown, spent a bit of time In Markleville, a town in Madison County, Indiana.

Markleville was laid out and named.by John Markle in 1852 and incorporated as a town in 1912.

The population was 528 at the 2010 census an increase from the 383 people counted in 2000.  However by 2014 it dropped slightly to 522. Which is a population change since 2000 of +36.3%.  This decrease continued as the population on July1, 2018 was 519.

The Markleville Mall is located in town along Route 38.

Signage indicates that Antiques - Collectibles and Farmer's Market items are available during limited hours on Friday's and Saturday's.
