Monday Morning Coffee: Circus City, Indiana

Peru was the winter headquarters for several famous circuses, including Ringling Brothers, Hagenbeck-Wallace, Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.

Peru is a city and the county seat of Miami County, Indiana.  It is located along the Wabash River, which divides the city in two. 

The population was 11,417 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous city in Miami County. This a a decrease from the 12,994 in 2000. 

This decreasing population continues as in 2014 it was down to 11,079 people and by 2018 it is estimated to be 11,037.

Although visiting Peru long after the fourth of July, fireworks are readily available year long.
