Wapakoneta or “Wapak”, as residents call it, is located on the intersection of I-75 and state route 33 and is the county seat of Auglaize County, Ohio.
As of the census of 2000, the population was 9,474. In 2010 it was up to 9,867 and by 2014 down a touch to 9,818.
