Swayzee, Indiana claims to be the only Swayzee in the world.
This is based on a story about a postcard sent by a serviceman overseas during World War II, which although being addressed only to "Swayzee", with no mention of Indiana or any other information, was still said to have been successfully delivered.
Swayzee is a small town in Grant County, Indiana. Like many such communities the population is decreasing. In 2010 it was 981, which was less then the 1,011 in 2000. By July 1, 2017 the population was down to 963.
Along a main street is the 1893 opera house that has been partly recycled into a retail store.
