Monday Morning Coffee: Dunkirk, Indiana

Quick Sunday morning walk and then off for a visit to Dunkirk, Indiana.

The city is a bit unusual in that it lies within two Indiana counties - Blackford and Jay.  In July, 2016 the population was 2286 which is a decrease from the 2646 in 2000.

Standing empty on the Main street - State Route 167 -  is the Dood building built in 1893.  Another example of the crafted red brick architecture of the period.

Moving a block south, the empty and unused building is the Stewart Bros. building which dates from 1903.

While these two are rather different, they share red brick and the extended brick work along the upper part of the buildings.
