Monday Morning Coffee: Another Day - Another Small City

A bit of wander in North Central Indiana as warm and sunny weather arrived.

   Montpelier, Indiana.

Montpelier, Indiana is a city in Blackford County and was established by settlers from Vermont - hence the name.

This is a typical small Midwest city, in that over time its population has decreased.

In 2000 it was 1929, in 2003 - 1879, in 2010 -1805 and by 2016 it was down to 1742.  This is a lost of 187 people in 16 years.  While not a large amount, for a small city it is significant.

Like the above painted flag, several other buildings have been embellished with painted artwork.
