A point was made in yesterdays Bloomfield, Iowa post that the brick storefronts were retained. Here in Farmer City, the brick-front has been covered over with metal siding. For some this is an modernizing improvement. The original brickwork can be seen on sides and rear wall.
Wonder about the shape and form of the original brick-front and why it was replaced. As shown in Bloomfield the original brick construction can be very attractive and inviting.
