Finally, with a spot of good weather, managed to pack up the new equipment and take a quick local walkabout.
The new camera is a refurbished Olympus OM-D Mark5 II and the new lens is a Olympus f4-150mm F4 -5.6 with a 35mm film camera coverage of 28-300mm, together weighing 2.18 lb.
The Olympus camera is smaller, weighs only1.03 lb and has 16mp sensor.
The lens is a replacement for the Olympus Pro 12 - 40 mm F2.8 lens. The new lens is smaller, weighs less than the old lens and has a larger coverage range.
Following are several results from a Richmond, Indiana walkabout using this combination.
Am pleased with these early results and for now will add the pair to the kit.
The next test is to combine the lens with a Panasonic Lumix DC-G9 23mp sensor camera body. The G9 is bigger and heaver at1.45 lb bringing the camera with the new lens up to 2.60 lb.
The difference between the two combinations is 0.43 lb, which is not much, but might be sufficient on a long walkabout.
