Seldom plan/stage photographs. Rather spent energy at an location looking and if see something, the photograph happens.
There are times when this way of working is not acceptable as some venues require require permission before entering to photograph.
A federal post office is such a location. Wishing to spend time behind the scene at a local post office required permission from higher authorities than just the post master agreeing.
Made a request and after a couple of weeks, the post master received word that a photographer could spend some time photographing within the facility.
With approval, spent a good part of a day waiting, watching the workers and when things came visually together photographed.
