It was a rather nice sunny Sunday July day as I arrived in Chillicothe, Ohio, a city along the Scioto River and the county seat of Ross County.
This was not a first visit as for over 15 years I was one of the
about 3000 cyclists that participate in the annual Mother's Day weekend Tour of the Scioto River Valley, covering 210 miles during the weekend (105 miles Saturday and 105 miles Sunday).
The tour leaves from Columbus, Ohio on Saturday morning, with a food stop in Chillicothe and spend the night in Portsmouth on the Ohio River, and return on Sunday to Columbus.
No bicyclists today as the city was quiet and devoid of people and vehicles. Parked the car and with cameras in hand began a city walkabout.
Approaching the Court House heard the sound of a guitar. Arriving, discovered two people. One seated on the steps playing the instrument, the other standing nearby listening.
They were a couple and came up to Chillicothe for the day from their home in Kentucky.
Asked if would be o.k. to take a few photographs and she said it would be fine to do so.
At the corner, turned to look back, he was still playing and she was still standing.
