Photography is a one trick pony. It shows only the present. Not the past. Not the future. To show the past, you must have been there. To show the future, you have to wait until it arrives.
Over time, the world, people, tools and materials evolve. A problem for photography is how to show change. One solution is to over time return, return and return in order to build a collection of still images that show change.
On a late October 6, 2000 afternoon, using a early digital camera, photographed the exterior of Webster's Barber Shop.

Returning on an early June 14, 2020 day, almost twenty years later, with a modern - up to date - digital camera, to show what - if anything - had changed.

The basic building architecture remains with windows and signage replaced by a more modern sense of design and graphics.
In terms of photography, what has dramatically changed, along with the Fall vs Spring light, are the tools and materials. Digital cameras and corresponding materials have greatly evolved producing a more accurate image.
