Starting off
another week of home bound life. Don't remember if this is the second
or third week. Doesn't matter as it appears to be, if we're lucky, just
another with several more to follow.
It hasn't been all that bad. Been able, along with Liah, to walk outside in a very quiet neighborhood. What we are seeing are parked vehicles that haven't moved for several days. Folks are either not working or perhaps working from home. In any case, they are confined inside.
Local groceries are still somewhat under supplied with goods. Additionally, they are limiting the number of customers allowed inside.
Now while we have enough food on hand for a couple weeks there is one item in short supply - bread. Not wanting to go shopping, checked out the pantry.
To my amazement discovered a bag of flour and some yeast. The yeast expires in June 2020, so we are good to go. After a bit of mixing and baking time on Sunday, we now have fresh bread. Problem solved.
On the photography front. Because of the virus, unable to safely walkabout photographing in the Midwest. While have a backlog of results from earlier wanderings, decided to explore my extensive collection of black and white negatives.
After several days selecting negatives, the next task was to scan them so that they could be seen on a computer / tablet / smartphone.
Now it's been a while since the scanner has been used. First off, scanner only works on Windows systems XP and earlier. Next up retrieve and connect a XP system computer, monitor, install a scanning program and relearn the whole process.
After a spot of failures, everything successfully came together. Along with the photograph at the top, here are a couple more results.

In several ways the past week has been enjoyable. Lots of valuable time with Liah along with revisiting earlier photography work and improving scanning skills. Time well spent.
Take care and be safe.
